European Adventure Part IX: Day Three
Today we’re leaving the bustling city of London behind and visiting Kew Botanic Gardens. I can’t wait!
A DELICIOUS BREAKFAST - PART II
This morning, we headed behind Paddington Station to the Canal for a yummy breakfast on a riverboat called Darcie and May Green. It was an Australian restaurant, and I had the Dirty Daisy which had tater tots, chipotle sourcream, Monterey Jack, chorizo, free range egg, fermented green tomato avocado salsa, refried black beans, pink pickled onions. SO YUM.
TO KEW!
After breakfast we hit the Underground and went West to Kew Botanic Gardens, which is about 40 minutes outside of the city. Kew apparently houses one of the largest botanical collections in the world. It was lovely to roam around the garden. There two beautiful, large, buildings on the property that are some of the most beautiful (and largest) glass houses that I’ve ever seen.
We also took stairs to the treetop walk, which is about 60 feet above the ground. It takes you on this short, but lovely, walk among the trees. We also took a little break to soak up the atmosphere by the take. There was all kinds of bird wildlife including geese, ducks, and swans.
Soon, it was time to head back to London. A street vendor was selling donuts right outside the station, and we couldn’t resist the tasty snack before heading back on the long train ride back to the city.
A LAST EVENING
We after we got back to the city we stopped for some pre-dinner drinks at the Coral Room in Bloomsbury. The vibe was fun, and the drinks were tasty. Then for dinner, we went to Yalla Yalla a small Lebanese restaurant close by. The food was so flavorful and I loved every bite.
To get back to my hotel, I took the bus across town. Sitting on the upper deck, I was so grateful for time that I was able to spend in the city, and was really looking forward to the rest of our trip.
