Thinking About 2021

Jess at Botanical Gardens 1

I’ll be honest, I’m not going into this New Year with the hopefulness and excitement that I usually do. I don’t have this massive outlook for where I see myself and Daydreams by the end of the year. My goal instead is simply to survive and working on thriving through the changes that were brought about in 2020. I’m sure that I’m not alone in feeling this way and take encouragement from others who are taking joy and peace in simply living that out. This is my single aspiration is for 2021.

I do go into this year with a confidence that I did not have entering 2020. I have a renewed purpose in the work that Daydreams will do – help to provide peace to everyone that we work with whether we’re offering complimentary COVID consults for engaged couples, hosting virtual events, or working with our current clients to navigate event planning in a COVID world. And this year will be spent amplifying that work.

During our website design, I really spent time thinking about what this company is. I know that I got distracted in the daily operations, and sort of lost sight of the foundations of our work. So, I crafted our Key Beliefs. Everything that we do will be grounded in these Key Beliefs, and we’ll strive for excellence in all of them. I know that there are times when we’re going to fall short, but so long as we find our way back to these tenets, I know we’ll be okay.

 Our Key Beliefs

  • Be kind & authentic

  • Produce stellar work

  • Work on projects we believe in

  • Invite our guests and clients into a space where they can take a breather and relax, trusting that we have all of the details in hand

  • Ensure that all – regardless of race, faith, age, sexual orientation, gender identification, hearing loss, or vision impairment – feel welcome in the spaces that we create and the events that we work on
