I Love Spending an Afternoon Crafting
This time in self-isolation has taken me back to an activity I love… crafting! In this time of insanity, I'm craving activities that bring me a bit of peace, and crafting is something that is relaxing and quite calming.
I am learning new crafts like hand embroidery which is challenging and entertaining at the same time. Who knew learning the French knot would be what gives me peace?
I started crafting as an adult with my good friend, Kimberly. We'd spend such lovely Saturday afternoons relaxing while stamping, painting, and doing other fun crafts. I remember her husband, Jeremy, would make delicious snacks for us and play his video games on mute in the living room. There was something wonderful about all of us quietly doing our own thing, while still enjoying each other’s company.
I do find so much peace in creativity. From embroidery, painting, or creating events to host at Daydreams. When I am being creative it allows me to quiet the part of my mind that loves running through the long to do list, and focus on one thing at a time. One of the reasons I started Daydreams was because I wanted to give that sense of peace to our couples and clients through planning and hosting events. Even in the midst of the event chaos, I love that I'm able to do that through my work.
I hope that you’re able to find peace during this time. If you'd like to craft with me, check out the virtual workshops below!
